Where these roles live.
The typical environments where these roles sit — useful framing if you're scoping a new brief.
Cloud and DevOps roles sit inside platform-engineering teams that build internal developer platforms, SRE practices establishing reliability programmes from scratch, and cloud-migration initiatives where the choice of Terraform vs Pulumi vs CDK matters more than the certificate count. Most clients are scale-ups past series-B with engineering teams of 30-150, looking for hires who've seen production at scale before.
How we approach it.
Why Cloud × DevOps placements need a different approach from generic tech recruitment.
- Production scars over certificates
- We screen for candidates who've been on-call, run actual postmortems, and shipped IaC into prod. Certifications are a signal, not the substance.
- Multi-cloud literacy
- Most of our active mandates are Azure or AWS-led but our pipeline includes GCP and hybrid engineers — we don't lock you into one cloud's talent pool.
- Realistic about scarcity
- Senior platform engineers with 5+ years of Kubernetes in production are rare. We'll be honest about pipeline depth on day one rather than promising shortlists we can't deliver.

Senior Platform Engineer
Joined a scale-up's infrastructure team building an internal developer platform on Kubernetes + ArgoCD.
Site Reliability Engineer
Placed into a fintech standing up an SRE practice from scratch; first hire on the team.
Cloud Architect
Hired into a global insurer's cloud migration programme — Azure-led, multi-region.
Common questions.
Common questions about Cloud × DevOps placements. If yours isn't here, ask directly.
Do you cover SREs distinctly from DevOps engineers?
Yes. We screen separately for SRE (reliability engineering, error budgets, on-call discipline) and platform/DevOps (CI/CD, IaC, developer experience). The titles overlap; the day-to-day doesn't.
What's the typical seniority you place in cloud?
Senior and Lead. Mid-level cloud engineers are increasingly scarce post-2023; we focus where our network is deepest.
Can you handle Kubernetes-specific searches?
Yes — that's one of the most common briefs we receive. We screen for production K8s experience (not just bootcamps), Helm/Kustomize/ArgoCD familiarity, and operator-pattern fluency for the senior end.
Which regions are strongest for cloud talent?
DACH, Israel, Poland, Romania, and increasingly Portugal. Brazil for LATAM-anchored roles. We'll match candidate time-zone to your business hours during the brief.
